Dear Clients and Partners!
Please be informed of the changes which provide for exemption of requirement to fill in migration cards upon entry to Belarus for foreign nationals. The changes came in effect on March 6th, 2018.
Which law introduces the changes?
- Protocol on amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the use of the uniform migration card dated October 5th, 2004 (Grodno, April 6th, 2017).
What are the changes?
1. All categories of foreign nationals who enter Belarus for the purpose of staying in the territory of Belarus are exempt from receiving migration cards.
-Foreign nationals are required to receive migration cards for the purpose of entry to Russia, including those entering from Belarus. Exception – nationals of Belarus and those who have temporary or permanent residence permit in Russia.
- Please be reminded that crossing of the internal border between Russia and Belarus by nationals of third counties via car or train is considered a violation by the Border control service of the FSS of Russia because there are no international checkpoints on the internal border. Exception – those taking direct flights between Belarus and Russia and passing border control in Russian airports.
- Please be reminded that the 5-day visa-waiver program adopted in Belarus for nationals of 80 countries who enter and exit via Minsk international airport does not apply to those who take direct flights between Belarus and Russia. Violation of the program rules may lead to a ban on entry both to Russia and Belarus.
